OT - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! to Dr. Kitty

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Ann, I am thrilled for you!! That signature on your post told me your dissertation was accepted and that you are now one of the illustrious H. academicae. Am I correct?

Good on ya, girlfriend!!!!

AAAAWWWWWWW, shucks! Thanks Carol!!!! Yep - it's a done deal. Finally. I have literally had heart palpitations for about three weeks (no sleep and lots of stress) preparing for the oral defense, going on a job interview, and teaching. Now all I need to do is make any grammatical/technical corrections if the graduate school deems them necessary - and put on the funny hat for spring graduation. Tee Hee ... it just goes to show that every once in a while, poor white trash can sneak into the ivory tower and live to tell about it!

Congratulations, Ann! Perhaps you should change your DG name to Dr.Kitty?

Chowchilla, CA(Zone 10a)

Thanks Mark! Hmmm.... Dr.Kitty ... it's pretentious, yet a bit hilarious. I rather think it's meowvelous. Hahahaha.

Congratulations Ann!
Now I want to know what you were studying. I bet it was a long hall but well worth it:)

A huge congrats!!! Nice to know someone can escape from the nexus of graduate school. I now have something to strive for.....only 3 more years to go...

Congrats, Ann!!

Bea, I am a sociologist (meaning, I study society). I pretty much look at what's "wrong" with different aspects of society. For my dissertation I examined how newspapers report the current war.
Kim, yes ... I finally escaped ... in spite of those who tried to stop me! And yes, you most certainly can make it through!!!
Thanks, everyone, for your kind words!!

Well done. From someone else who has been through hell and high water, losing most of her sanity on the way (ah, this is why I sit and look at plants whenever I can!) to get her PhD I know how much of an achievement this can be...

Congratulations!

Ms Kitty.............It always amazes me how they manage to put a twist on things, the media that is. What a great topic.
So does this mean you have studied human behavior and can tell us why as a whole, this group of folks are all so addicted to Hoyas? haha Is there hope for us?

Bea

Chowchilla, CA(Zone 10a)

Thanks Marie, Christine, and Bea!
Bea, there is no hope for any of us hoya addicts - lol - but I think you knew that.
