Weight Loss Challange March 17 - 24th

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

I'm sure everyone is very busy now with the weather warming up. Most of us will be spending a lot more time outside playing in dirt like happy little children. The fresh air and sunshine will feel so good after a long hard winter. For some it has been longer & harder than others. The increased activity should help all of us with weight loss as long as it doesn't also increase our appitites. We must be sure to drink the minimum 64 oz. of water each 24 hours. More if you can, but don't go overboard with it or you can be really sick from dilution of electrolyes. In everything use moderation and common sense. If in doubt about something, ask questions and dig until you have a good basis for what you think you are contemplating. But remember that most people mistake thirst for hunger. So we tend to eat when all we really needed was H2O. It's also getting time to start thinking about sun screen for our skin when we go outside. I heard last year that you should put it on 20 min. before going out in the sun and that it only lasts about 4 hours before needing to be reapplied. The article also said that sun screen left from last year is not good this year. I don't know if this is all true but it should be looked into by everyone. I'll do another web search and see what I can find.

Eating was very good yesterday except for the ranch dressing on the salad at noon. Supper was some thin slices of corned beef that I pulled every bit of fat off and the cabbage and a piece of potato that had been cooked in the defatted broth. I think I ate something else last night too but can't remember what it was. This morning I had what was left of yesterday morning's oatmeal with chopped apple & raisin and 1/2 of a banana. Of course lunch will be the lasanga. I had one square of cinnamon graham cracker with about a tablespoon of p. butter and a banana at work yesterday about 5. Maybe that was what I couldn't remember.

Kris & Shad are here to work on the pickup. It is going to be a cold day for working in an open unheated area. I took some small space heaters out there and set near them. I pray it helps. I wish he would back up futher into the garage but he says they need the room for working. I need to get the lasanga made. The Italian sausage is cooked so I need to cook the noodles and assemble it.

It's still very chilly this morning. I need to get outside tho and turn the birds loose and move the van from in front of the garage. I have to have Shadoe show me where to check the brake fluid. I put the emergency brake on yesterday and drove all the way to work with it on. I knew something was the matter & stopped twice to check for a flat tire. I didn't see a light on but then it was light and I wasn't looking for a light. Anyway they weren't working very well when I tried to turn off at the cafe' unless I pumped them a times. One of the daughters, Melissa, followed me home and they worked fine all the way so I am believing that GOD fixed them.

Shad & Kris just looked for me and the fluid level is ok. I really am learning to rely on GOD to be my mechanic since Jack is gone. The last year he couldn't do much anyway but was there for advice. Kind of like Ally's DH. His knowledge is still there to help them know what is wrong, he just has to let someone else do the actual work.

GOD bless and keep each of you.
