Skimmer/waterfall filter recommendations

I have a homemade system that I am going to replace with a commercial unit.
Pond is 6000 gallons with a 8ft square veggie filter between the Falls and pond.
Was looking on the Internet and there is a lot of them. Need to pick a good one. Looking for foresight and hindsight of those whom have already went through this.
Will start with my Wall-mart Tote Box Skimmer and work my way up to the falls.
Want to redo all the rock edging and lay down a bigger line to the falls.
I want to see my KOI. LOL

I have 8000 gal. of pond and put in 2 bead filters but they have to be backwashed about every other day. The best thing I did was put in the UV light. Highly recommend that!!!

Hi - 7,000 gallons here - I highly recommend a Savio skimmer/filter and 2 57 watt UV lights - best decision I ever made, but with this pond size, be sure to get the largest possible! Just need to clean out skimmer basket and change filter regularly. Dax
