Help with Parsley

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

I know, I know, I should know, but I don't. Please help.

My parsley and my basil for that matter, get light/white spots and it makes the leaves look anemic. I don't see bugs. I don't want to use chemicals, because I eat them.

HELP!!!!!

Hap, trash them... pull them up and either burn them or put in the dump... NOT the compost pile. Buy new plants and put in a different spot.

Hey there, Darius....

This happens no matter where I plant my herbs. Oregano is fine and also is rosemary. But early plantings of basil and the parsleys all look the same. Promise I will post pix tomorrow.

Good to see you, kiddo.

It must have just been stress from transplanting. It's growing lovely now and no white dots. Thanks, kids.

I'm having the same problem. Does anyone know what this is? I'm going to pull up the plant today but how can I keep this from happening again? It started last year and appeared again in this years plant just as soon as it got a good start. I don't see any insects.

Answering my own question - The white spots are caused by a fungus for which there is no cure. Guess I'll start over in a different spot.

This may be a stupid question, but, while I realize it can affect the looks of the plant, does a fungus like this make the parsley dangerous to eat? Just curious.
