This is Ella's Peach Blossom. It's got little leaves growing on the bigger leaves. Strange!

Now thats something you don't see everyday P .What causes that to happen? I wonder if all those little leaves are going to be baby av's? I am going to be watching this thread for updates.I am really intrigued .I have one that has a similar behavior : )

Seems to me I read something about that exact thing on a forum a few months back .... but don't have a clue exactly when it was. I bet Allison would know exactly what is going on with your plant, and what to do about it! You should email her the photo and ask her advice. It is strange looking, and I hope it isn't detrimental to the mom plant!

br~ Are they suckers?

One's close to the edge,It's got 2 leaves w/stems.The other is just a leaf at the base of the leaf that joins it to the stem.

I had this happen on a plant of 'Rob's Ragamuffin', after my plants had been a bit neglected/stressed... I left them alone, thinking they'd grow bigger like suckers and planning to then remove them to pot up, but there's been very little change. At the time I mentioned this, Allison said she'd never heard of such a thing, and it was sure new in my experience too!

Critter I thought that was you who had this same problem.I tried and tried to think back to who posted about this and I couldn't figure it out to save me! I have a whacky optimara isabelle that always seems to form what looks like babies on the leaves.I have just left it go.I never thought to try and remove those little aliens and pot them up.Maybe I will give it a try.

Oh Cedar ... do you think the 'Isabelle' you gave me will do that? I would like to potting them up just to see what happens! But, then again, I would also be afraid of harming the "mom" plant! I have an 'Annabelle' that is growing really weird. She's getting tall and skinny with suckers on both sides. I removed her from under the lights and put her in natural light for awhile to see if there's any change. I butchered my 'Evergrace' by cutting off suckers. I potted up the little things, but they don't look like they will survive and "mom plant" doesn't look too hot either. Hope I didn't kill her!

Lin, The one I sent you hasn't done it yet so maybe it won't?But you never know.Well I do know I just butchered mine trying to trim the what i thought were babies off. They looked like mini av;s alright but they are or should I say "were" growing at the base of the leaves between the stem and leaf coming out of the leaf itself. Were being the buzz word.LOL guess I should have just left it alone.Too late..it is trash.Should make good compost anyway.Oh well I still have another so I'm not out anything so I will be keeping an eye on that one to see if it happens with it too.I really just think it was a freak incident.Like critter said..it was probably a reaction to being stressed and neglected.I have an unintentional way of doing that sometimes : (
