I promised someone seeds

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

But can't remember who or what the name is of this tree so I could do a search.

I finally went back to the tree and though the pods were too high, I did find one with some seeds left on the ground.

Anyone know the name and who asked for them?

I had no clue what to look for so I took all the pods I could find. But only 1 had seeds left when I got home and really looked.

Considering how big these pods are, there are few seeds in each one. They run across the top in a single row. You can see the indentations where they were.

Anyway, the seeds are cute. The tree is big. The flower is red with like fingers coming out. I remember the seeds or a seedling sold for lots of $$ on eBay a while back.

What does the tree look like? Have a photo?

Not readily available. I will have to look tonight for my original post. I showed the pod when it was hanging from the tree. I wonder if it is called Monkey hand or paw. I will have to do research. The flowers are rather spectacular and so different.

I looked and drooled over strange_wonderful_things' seeds and plants. Then I clicked on his link for growing instructions and my heart fell. Most seem to require cool growing conditions. I think this was one of those. Boo hoo!
