Long story short, I had to do a system restore on my computer, and some stuff is gone. I think it could have been done differently, but that's another story. It's mostly not a problem, but it got me wondering about how Plantfiles works.
Having typed mostly genus and species names into the search fields for eight months, as soon as I type a letter or two, names would come up as possible choices, saving the trouble of typing 'Hamamelidaceae' yet again, for example... Now they're gone. I'm starting over.
Were these in my computer's memory, or Dave's? It made me wonder could these names be pre-loaded into Dave's somehow (or one's computer), saving us the trouble of typos and incorrect spellings, etc.? I know there's some way to save stuff as you go along in the computer somewhere, like 'reset to this point in time' or what have you, but I never did do it.... Thanks, Mike
