This is a picture of "Allison's Gift." It is a lovely single/sdbl coral with dark green, pink and cream; redback foliage.
It is a cross of ACA's Red Ember x Crimson Ice. I had hoped for a red thumbprint on variegated foliage and didn't
get a one.
"Allison's Gift" is named in honor of our friend Allison who has given so much to this board. I only have the one plant at this time, but I do have several leaves that should produce babies in a couple of months. If anyone is interested in having this variety, I will gladly send leaves to you for the cost of the postage. I will have to make a list or my poor mama-plant will be leafless.
If you D-mail me privately, I will let you know when leaves are available. Sorry I haven't been on the board in the past month or so. I am still recovering from a long bout with pneumonia.

Allison's Gift
Nancy B,Hope you are feeling better. What a beautiful plant you created in "Allison's Gift".It is absolutely stunning. What a super person you are to create a plant honoring our Dear Allison. She indeed is greatly missed in the garden.I wish she could see this.I am sure she would be overwhelmed : ) I am even tearing up over it.Thank You So Much!! Needless to say...You have D-mail : )
Nancy
I was so touched this morning by Allison's absence, I almost broke down and wrote a dmail to Daves' begging for her reinstatement.....no one on this forum as her expertise and encouragement to offer. I miss her more than anyone can possibly know......She is over 15 years younger than me and 40 years older in her knowledge of gesneriads................all of them....
I think her email is down as I haven't been able to contact her in 2 days and it is killing me!!!!
Thank you, Nancy B for sharing a little bit of Allison with those of us who absolutely adore her.

Sorry to be so clueless, what happened to Allison?
NO one knows exactly.....her membership was taken away by administration....she can't even get back on to read like a non member could....
Oh, I'm really sorry. She was so nice to send me a few AV leaves when I was starting out. I wonder if SHE even knows why her membership was taken?
Nancy, your plant is lovely and it's very kind of you to honor your friend by naming it for her, and sharing it with others. I think most of us would agree the rest of this thread is a little inappropriate, and as Allison's friends, I'm confident you wouldn't want to embarass her by casually speculating about her situation.
Because we respect the privacy of all our members (even those who are removed), we won't discuss the specific reasons for a member's removal. If you read the Acceptable Use Policy here: http://davesgarden.com/about/index.php?page=tos you'll see that Dave has prefaced the guidelines with a foreword that explains why most removals occur.
Sarahclarinda/Nancy: I just came across this thread and what a Wonderful thing to name that Beautiful Plant after "Our" Friend Allison! It is a Beauty! Yes, we all miss Allison's Vast Knowledge and Generous Spirit. I, along with so many, am very sad that she can no longer share that Knowledge and Generosity here on the Forums. I pray for her, and what she is going through, with ALS, an illness that there is no cure for. What a Wonderful Tribute you have given, a Beautiful Plant for a Lady with a Beautiful and Generous Spirit!

I will enjoy the rest of DG, but my good friends, look for me elsewhere as I will not be posting anymore on the AV forum.....I love lots of plants .......
Nancy,it's so nice to see you posting.I hope your recovery is a speedy one.Thank you for naming your new plant for our friend Allison. She's beautiful.I sending you d-mail:)
