Hiya Betty Gail,
I'm no pro but ,here's one way you could do it... I borrowed your pic, hope you don't mind.

Cut the top off then plant it and bag it for about 1 month it will root real quick.
You ca strip off some of the old leaves & root for insurance if you like...

Good luck!

You are so nice...and good with the computer that is for sure!!!! Thanks and do I use the same mix as I normally do....which is 1/2 AV soil and 1/2 perlite (also, I have tents on my gro light stands with plenty of humidity) Do I still need to put it in a baggie?

Hiya BettyG,
Sure you can use the same AV mix you use for all your Av's .
I would put it in a zip lock baggie myself, because you want it warm & humid to grow roots real quick. I don't think your tents on the light stand will do as good of a job. That's just my opinion, but you could try it .

I 've had a few look like yours too..lol

A friend brought this to me when she came this weekend...we both started laughing so hard. I moved up her good ones into 4" pots....she loves plants, but won't get her hands into dirt!! (LOL) I will follow your instructions!!! Thanks again

The culture pages on Rob's site have instructions for dealing with AVs with such long necks that they look like they're crawling right out of the pot... MsC gave you exactly the right advice, and it will work! For Rob's explanation, go to the FAQ page http://www.robsviolet.com/faq.htm, scroll down to "potting and repotting," then click on the link for plants with "extremely long necks."
