Betsy (my sister) went to a very large nursery in St. Louis this weekend, and brought us both back a wonderful new hoya. The lady at the nursery didn't know what kind it was - neither do I! Although I haven't seen it yet, Betsy did send me pictures, which I'll post here. It looks like a cross between kerri and Krinkle 8. It has very distinctive heart shaped leaves, that are krinkled! Have you seen this before? What is it, and does it have a name? Thanks - Karen
Hoya gift from sister
Hi Karen;;
I sent you a gift this morning by priority mail. Let me know by personal e mail, what you think.
I can't say for sure what this plant is either but it looks suspiciously like the H. lacunosa with the heart shaped leaves. It doesn't look succulent enough to be in the H. kerrii complex nor cardboardy (is that a word)? to be in the Krinkle 8/carnosa complex. Need to see flowers.

Ohhhh, Annie - is it what I think it is?? I hope so - I have been eagerly awaiting it's arrival!! Karen
Karen it looks similar to photos I've seen of what's being called a Hoya 'chelsea.' I know nothing about it, but I've been seeing them on ebay in the recent months. I think Marcy might have one.
It's sure pretty!!
Ann
Yep me thinks Ms. K is right, that's what it looks like to me. I have 2 of them, and they seem to be slow growers. Nice!!
Blessings,
Your other Sistah!
I agree with Ms. Kitty. I have some and they grow quickly and really full for me. I like it. I am sure it is a wild hybrid (cross) of some kind.
Thanks everyone - I haven't picked it up from Betsy yet - can't wait!! Karen
Hey, Awanda, Carol, and Mark ... have any of you gotten it to bloom? I would love to see the blooms, even though the foliage is good enough to satisfy my lustful heart.
Ann
Nada for me...yet:-).
Blessings,
Awanda
I bought 2 of those on Ebay last year also. I gave one to my neice and kept one for myself. They both appear to be vigorous and healthy growers much like the carnosa clan.
No blooms yet but the leaves are very pretty. They do resemble the shape of the little lacunosa heart leaf one, but are so much bigger and thicker, there is no mistaking the difference in plants.
Marcy
wow kabob.......... you have some very nice things there. It is nice to be spoiled isn't it.

Karen...when is/was your birthday? Have you gone to Seattle yet? Be sure to check out Molbaks (sp?) nursery if you have a car.
Carol
Carol - my birthday was early March (I was 29, again.....) Anyway, we leave for Seattle on the 29th - REALLY excited about going. I've got my list of "must sees" thanks to your suggestions! Will definitely add Molbaks nursery to the list!! Karen
