Color Halter question

I'm trying to enter Romeo in halter classes, and I can't choose. Help??

Horse color - Red roan. Darker red in places, mostly white in others. Two white rear socks.

Class in question - "Color halter". we have two choices - Color-solid, or color non-solid. I asked the show director. She said, "you choose, doesn't matter." The show bill says "Color-solid (grays, sorrel, bays). Color non-solid (paints & appys)" So, which are we? Color solid, or non-solid?
