Hello folks;,,
I just thought I'd share a picture of this beautiful butterfly with everyone..... I don't know what species it is, nor did I take the picture.... I just thought everyone might enjoy seeing it.... Maybe someone might even know what it's called....

Dave,
I don't know what it is, but it is very beautiful! Did you just see it recently or it is from last year? I would think it would be too early to see BF's in OH right now. Thanks for sharing that little gem to us!

Dave - That butterfly is such an unusual color for a butterfly. I love it! Really striking in color! Thanks for sharing a photo of one I have never seen or heard of. ♥
That's gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Dave, for bringing that beautiful butterfly to our attention. Sometimes when you think that butterflies couldn't get any prettier, a new and more beautiful butterfly comes along.
Thanks again,
Chuck
Please let us know if you get it identified.
they do have green butterflies but overseas. i can name a few but none that look like that does. never seen one over here though.
wow - what a beauty - can't wait to find out what kind it is!
I just happen to come across this...and wow, that is a beautiful butterfly.
Any I.D. yet?
I will send a couple dmails out to see if the thread was overlooked by someone who knows.
Is it a malachite?
No, this guy is tiny compared to Malachite butterflies. I can't find it, though...I looked for a green flat-winged skipper, I got nothing. It would help a lot to know where it's from. There's a butterfly ID search site that will look for butterflies with certain characteristics (color, wing shape, etc.) but it's hard to use if you don't know where it's from, because you have to look at SO many to find the right one.
