I have a potted stromanthe tricolor that's bursting at the seams.
Anybody know how to divide it?
PlantFiles says it's propagated by dividing tubers/rhizomes.
Thanks.

How To Divide a Stromanthe?
Steve, I would take it out of the pot, take a long, sharp knove and start cutting where you see breaks in the stems near the dirt to avoid cutting thru the rhizomes as much as possible. You will cut thru some, but it will be obvious where you can cut and do the least amt of damage. Re pot and keep watered and in the shade until they start to recover and send out new growth, then you can fert and put them where you normally do.
i use a long, serrated bread knife. it seems to make a cleaner cut on the tough stuff.
