Hi everyone. I got 3 Nana plants from cyberageous, I thought that I was gonna lose one of them (the little one to the right) but when I brought it in for the winter it finally took off.
Lookie at my new baby and help me keep here healthy
Now here is a picture of the Plantains I bought at an auction yesterday. These are the smaller ones. I will be splitting them up this year. I left the picture sideways cuz you can see it better than if I turned it. As you can see they didnt fair well in the greenhouse this year. But that is OK cuz I know that they will be beautiful this summer. I havent cut the leave off yet just got it yesterday.
NOW here is my baby that I am talking about. I had a nursey 2 doors from my house for several years. He had this Musa approx 7 years ago. And every year I tried to buy it from him and he wouldnt sell it to me. He closed the nursey 2 years ago. So I know this Nanner is 7 years old. I got it yesterday. I was on a 24hr shift and my hubby called me and told me that there was an action at my favorite (no longer existing) nursey. So what did I do I took my lunch at the auction......lol Then I had to take several hrs off that afternoon to help him bring home everything he bought. Thank goodness we only lived 2 doors away. So when I got this baby (not so tiny) home I cut all the leaves but the one off cuz I didnt want to disturb any other news leaves underneath. And it just bearly fit in my garage.....lol. The leaves were as bad as the little ones above. This is the biggy question. I want to Know is there something special to fertilize Nana. I have heard something about fish emulsion and is it a good thing or bad thing. Help me Keep this baby for another 7 years X 100 if I can.....lol
BTW ignore the mess in the garage it is winter here remember and everything gets tossed there. Also my husband had to move the motorcycle out for my babies. LOL
Thanks
Beck
