brug cuttings
Can't believe our experts haven't shown up! I know a lot of people overwintered their cuttings in "bubblers". I never got a bubbler hooked up, so have some in water that I change frequently, and some I potted as soon as little roots appeared. This time of year, I'd probably put in water with some superthrive, and then pot. Are you planning to grow in pots or in the ground? With your zone, the preferred method might be very different.
Hey Sharon, you are an expert too. LOL All you said sounds good to me. Spring is the best time of year to start cuttings. Everything wants to grow. Brugs will root in water and in soil. I prefer soil myself because mine seem to rot in water. Lots of people start them in water till they see the little white nubbies and then transfer to dirt. I start directly in dirt.
Just make sure your cuttings have nodes and I would make sure I plant my cutting deep so several nodes are below the soil line.
Also if you take a cutting from about your first Y, your new plant will be bushy. If you cut a piece from below the first Y, you tend to get a standard type plant.
Just make sure you do not overwater your cutting, just do so when dry. Good luck!
Thanks a lot for your help. I guess I'll try little of each.
