Chantilly is clearly mesmerized by this Clivia.
Clivias and their hypnotic properties
Me, too! Thanks for showing us.
the combo of Chantilly's blue eyes and the brilliant orange of the Clivia compliment one another so beautifully.
I want that cat. He is so beautiful and friendly. Just a great picture, Zu.
Isn't the intensity of the color in Clivias amazing? I find myself staring into the flowers all the time and wondering what it is about them that is so mesmerizing. It's more than just bright - what is it? If only your cat could talk, I'll bet he knows!
Intense orange flower, intense blue kitty eyes! Super cool picture :-)
great clivias!
I just bought a new salmon colored one yesterday. I am really hooked on these plants.
Hey WHERE OH WHERE Patricia did you get it?? Tell all.
I found mine at Alden Lanes Kell
I have the dubious distinction of being in charge of a plant booth at a fund raiser this weekend. I was out collecting donations from nurseries today and a newly opened nursery was very generous. This plant is in a 5 gallon (maybe even a 7, it's big) pot. Guess who is going to have a hard time letting someone else buy this one.
Beautiful Ardesia. Just beautiful. Bring your wallet. LOL
Thanks Patricia!
I have a couple yellow clivia's that I just love. I keep them in my covered entryway which tends to be rather dark and they just shine in there. You can see them clear from the street.
Patricia
Sigh, I sold the big yellow one today for $125; the American Cancer Society is going to be very happy but I miss that plant already, it looked so pretty on my front porch.
Hi Alice, it was good to see you Thursday.
Same here Linda, and wasn't Rita Randolph's talk good. My good gardening buddy and I sat there and said "road trip". It sounds like she had the kind of nursery we would like to visit. I liked that she gave Chris and Gretchen (Buried Treasures) a plug.
We have clivia growing in our backyard. The are so wonderful when they bloom. The orange color is intense.
Everyone who sees them asks if they're fake. They are so surprised when when we tell 'em, "NO!"
I was reading that near blooming time to fertilize them with something, but I forgot what ...acidic or a standard...?
