Hello All.
I stumbled across these plants (Porphyrocoma pholiana, I believe) while enjoying the new Park Seed catalog and now have ten seedlings doing well in my grow room. Are the plants really as cool as they seem? Variegated foliage, compact height, tropical look, gorgeous flowers, SHADE loving...can it all be true? What's the catch?

Eric they like moisture & humid conditions and are very easy to grow. I managed to get some seed back from the plant I lost in the hurricane and it is doing beautifully. Just keep it in small container until it fills it. Don't jump it up to a big pot to soon. It makes seed readily as well.
Those sound neet, think I'll try to find some.
Now see what you made me do, seeds are on the way.

Thank you, DonnaB, for the kind and helpful advice. I appreciate it. I am looking forward to growing these even more now!
LindaSC, I only feel a bit guilty...LOL! I just sowed my seeds in seed starter mix, covered it with a bit of plastic wrap, set it in a bright spot and had seedlings within a week. I hope you have good success with your seeds as well.
Erick
