Wow, talk about 'intense'. I love it. You must have lots of hummers with those in your garden. Did you grow them from seed or buy as plants?
edited to add: if you started from seed, could you pls tell me where you purchased the seed

I would also like to know....have never seen a penta in such a dark rich red...
I bought a start from either Lowe's or HD but I could try to get some stems rooting in a bit of soil to share! Yes, it's the deepest red I have other than my Abutilon.
Everything in our front yard is either red or purple (with a little accent of yellow here & there). I'm a Red Hat Society chick. Also, we're going to be breeding Chinese Cresteds so we've adopted the red/purple as our theme colors.
Unfortunately, regardless of having feeders out (properly cleaned & filled) & getting flowers to tempt, we've never seen a hummingbird here! When I lived in ARkansas I had to replace two 2-liter feeders twice a day during the strongest part of the summer. I'd have at least 20 birds at anytime at each feeder & could stand there to let them light on my fingertips to feed from the nectar I provided them. I miss having them!

Too bad about the hummers, Suenell. I bet you really miss them. Especially with the number of hummers you had in Arkansas. I can't imagine having them sit on my fingers to feed, that must be so exciting, and to think I get so excited if I have 5 & they don't sit on my finger.
My sister is a Red Hatter too. She has a great time. Bet your yard looks super with the red/purple.
Thanks for the offer of the cuttings but that is a no-no between the US & Canada. Darn.
OH darn. Ya, I didn't notice you were from there. So sorry! Oh well, maybe Bettygail would like one.
