Passiflora seeds are floating ???

Fern Park, FL(Zone 9b)

I'm trying to germinate some passifloras from seeds that I got through Hudson Seeds. I read that if the seeds float they are likely not viable. I just started soaking today and most of the seeds are floating! I thought this may be because some of the seeds are VERY tiny so they don't weigh enough to sink to the bottom. Any info on this? Can they still be viable even though they are floating?

FYI-the species I am trying to germinate are Passiflora cuprea, P. trifasciata, P. vitifolia x coccinea ('Cordelia'), P. rubra, and P. maliformis.

Some of mine float on day 1... after a day or so they sink... I even had one germinate in the water.

How long do you soak for, Mike? I've read 24-72 hrs. Is there a magic number?

Paul just likes to agree with people. lol
He's just one happy chappy.

I have done different lengths of time som a week some 24 hours. Seems to depend more on the age of the seed than anything else.

I forgot about the week ones!
