I have some tillandsia on my porch.. I guess the porch has protected them against the drops below freezing. Anyhow , several of them are in bloom right now.
tillandsia in winter bloom
what a pretty flower......(adding to my wish list)
Very pretty.
awesome!!
tillandsias are great because they do not require soil. I have them hanging, wired into a hanging basket . I have them wired into a twig wrapped door wreath. I have them glued onto driftwood. An occasionally soaking with filtered water sprayed liberally onto them is all that is required.
What a pretty flower, Rylaff!

Rylaff that is a really awesome flower. I have never heard of these plants befor. Do you have a photo of the whole plant so I know what to look for when I am out and about?
Thanks Tami
Lowes carries them here in the Midwest - from $10-20 each, depending on size. They tend to rot for us, because we 'water' instead of 'mist' them. They require lots of humidity, which we don't have.
Very true. We have quite a bit of humidity here. A spritz here and there does the trick
Very nice. Tillandsia blooms in general are a real treat. Thank you for sharing the pictures.

Lovely. Tillandsias are bromeliads, you should post there too.
