Looking for a caper bush

Sarasota, FL(Zone 9b)

Does anyone know where I can purchase a caper bush? I have spent hours researching online, but all I can find are seeds. Any help would be appreciated. Blessings, Kelly

All right Mommy ~ you made me look... this is one pretty bloom. http://www.smgrowers.com/info/Capparis.asp but according to this link it will take some special care...

Quoting:
Caper bushes thrive when planted in lean well drained soil in a hot sunny location with it little or no water. Although appreciative of some summer irrigation in well drained soil, a sure way to kill a caper bush is to over water it.
They list some online retailers but none are currently stocking this plant.
Unfortunate for me tho, I found some neat new links to shop... http://www.smgrowers.com/purchase/weborder.asp and now I'm in trouble again. : )) Good luck! pod

Mountain Valley Growers carries capers, but they won't be available until later in the year. They have an email system that allows them to notify you when they're ready for shipment.

ooooohhhhh......a caper bush. Now my mouth is watering. I cook with them all the time. Couple of years ago, we were wandering...what's a caper? where does it come from? We had no idea it was a berry of it's own accord until we looked it up.

OK...here's a laugh...I thought, at that time that it was a pickled peppercorn. Really. I did. Duh.

I think I'd like to grow it and try brining it myself. Live and learn, right?
