Please help

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

Hi,

I have been adding some plants to the PlantFiles lately and I want to make sure that I'm doing it right. So could a couple of you go to the PlantFiles and tell me exactly what boxes to check off under "Propigation methods" and "Seed Collecting"? I hope this is not too much to ask but I want to make sure that I enter the exact right information.

Thanks so much,
Jesse

I'd help, Jesse, but I don't know what I'm doing. Never entered anything in plant files. Good luck!!

Jesse, it's safer to leave it unchecked if you are not sure. You or someone else can add it later.

PS I'm hoping to look at the PF tomorrow - can't really see on this phone and I've got another long day today.

I feel helpless.....sorry....

ooops, just realized I never posted more info on the propagation thing. I see you're doing lots over on the DG forum to improve PF for AVs. That's great. The actual options we have are not the right shape for our pegs ;-)

Also, I'll mention this again because I keep forgetting if I posted it. You've probably heard it a gazillion times anyway....
- AVs generally can be propagated in a lot of ways - leaf cuttings, seeds, suckers, tissue culture....
- BUT, there are fewer ways to propagate a named cultivar. Chimeras only from suckers, others can be propped from leaves. Seeds are not an option for named cultivars.
