Now what? I want to see if it will keep the whiteflies away from the Confederate Rose this year .. anyone with experience using worm castings please impart your wisdom.

Got my worm poop ....
X, put a thick layer down from near the trunk all the way to the drip line. I would apply it about the time the plant wakes up in the spring so the new growth will have the worm "flavoring". A few years ago I tried this and have never had another white fly on my confederate rose. My gardenias got a dose and stayed white fly free also. This year I applied it to all my tropical hibiscus and only had a few aphids on one plant out of about 2 dozen. I'm sold on the stuff for a pesticide and it is an excellent fertilizer also. There is an excellent discussion on using worm castings in potting mixes on one of the hibiscus growers sites; I 'll try and find that site for you. a
Here is that site I mentioned above.

Interesting to read the castings are being used for fire ants too.
Hi
Very good info. The site doesn't say how much shipping would be.Do you buy your castings locally?
If you have bought from them how much did they charge for shipping?
I have a can of worms composter but it only gives me a small amount of castings.
Thanks
I paid 40 dollars for 20 lbs which included shipping .. I don't know if that's high or low.
Thanks Ardesia!

Hmmmm that seems high; I seem to remember paying about $28.00 but I haven't bought any this year. We can ask at Hyam's and see if they have it.
Nancy, why don't you check at Waccamaw, they might have them.
Now if only we had a truck........ http://www.compostwizard.com/castings.html

Ooooooo Chris, where is Jonesboro??????
It seems to be about 20-30min southeast of atlanta.. I am in Fayette county about 30 minutes west of jonesboro, but I am still 20 min. south of the airport. Hope that helps. Maybe try mapquest. I could get back to NY easier than finding my way around here, LOL and I have been here 7 years.
Good Luck
Chris
LOL, I'll have to pass on that one.
