New babies

The pasture is popping right now with new babies. This little guy would have come right up to me, but he stopped and sniffed and took off!

You just gotta love this time of year. The energy of the new borns always surprises me. How many calves do you have? I love seeing everyone elses calves.

Cute little guy. We have a bunch of little ones, too. I always give a great big sigh of relief when I see a newborn with a face full of milk and kicking up its heels.

Just came in from the ranch. Put out two rolls of hay for the cattle and looked at all the new calves! Found 3 new ones today. Believe that makes 20 since the first of Feb. Patricia took a lot of pictures of the pairs, but have not moved them from the camera to the computer yet. Found a small problem also. Seven head had crossed the cattle guard into the neighbors' pasture. Will correct that tomorrow.

Don't you just love that when it happens??????? We tend to have that same problem quite often! Congrats on the three new baby calves! Wow, 20 is a lot. Keep that hay coming - - - if your land is anything like mine, they need it!
