As some of you know, in July we got a puppy that it turned out had Parvo. After nearly a month, he started gaining his weight back and looking healthy again.
Last Wednesday I took him along to the Vet when I had to pick up some meds for another of my dogs, so I could weigh him. The last time I picked him up he was 50 lbs. Today he weighed in at 80lbs. even. I knew he was getting bigger every day, but didn't expect him to be THAT much. So he will be a year in the middle of May. I think he is still growing. He used to be the same size as Maggie his playmate and another of my dogs. Now he towers over her.
He still acts like a puppy. My husband and I always tease and say a puppy doesn't get a brain until they are full grown. LOL
Well today he was again running along the fence. I knew the neighbor dogs were not outside and Maggie was not making any sign to join in.
It is a wooden privacy fence that he can only get within five or more feet of because of our cyclone fence.
I finally figured it out. With the changing position of the sun, the "shadow" dog appeared. LOL I wasn't for certain until the sun moved across the sky after a while making the shadow spots shorter. Sure enough, there he was racing along the fence trying to catch the shadow. When he would stop and wag his tail and look forward, the shape changed and he didn't recognize it. Then he would put his nose to the ground and walk, sure enough, the shadow dog would again appear and catch his attention and the race was on. He is such a clown he makes me smile and laugh out loud all day long.
Just thought I would share his antics and weight gain with everyone who knows him. I will have to get the camera out when he is outdoors playing some day soon so you can see how big he has gotten. Sometimes I come across one of his little baby pictures and cannot believe how puny he once was.
I finally got a chance to weigh "little" Petey
