I had a delicious cabbage side dish this weekend at a friend's house. He very thinly sliced a head of cabbage, put a couple tablespoons of olive oil in a sauce pan and piled on the cabbage. Sprinkled the top with a ginger soy sauce, maybe 2 tablespoons, and steamed it. Near the end of cooking slightly al dente, he added some red pepper flakes and freshly ground pepper. Yummiest cabbage I've had in ages!
