There's a book called, believe it or not, "Anyone Can Build a Tub-Style Mechanical Chicken Plucker." Amazon has it for very cheap, and the reviews are excellent. Someone said they built the thing for $300, with new parts.

I'm hoping to make one soon. You can also post your need at Craigslist.com or freecycle for your area.

Did you ever get your plucker or maybe make one ???

Just curious as I am going to be butchering my extra roo's soon. I was looking at the plucking attachments for a drill and thinking of maybe getting one to try. Not nearly as effective I'm sure but less costly. Probably will be quicker than hand plucking.
