finally.....it bloomed!

Seguin, TX(Zone 8b)

This is a hoya I picked up while I was home in Ohio for Christmas break. In fact, I embarrassed my mom over my excitement in Lowes when I saw it. I just love the leaves. They are very hard and inflexible. Not like anything else I've got, although the shape resembles others I have. Well, it had buds when I bought it but they blasted, so I kept waiting. I've been waiting patiently on these buds to open for weeks now, and this morning it opened! Does anyone know which one this is?

Thanks, Kim

Thanks Carol....there are actually leaves of both shapes on this plant. I also have another plant that I believed to be brevialata or incurvula (hasn't flowered though), but the leaves on that one are much more pliable. Maybe it was the way they were grown that changed the stiffness of the leaves? Very odd. Also, the flower pics I am finding online for incurvula and brevialata both seem to look like my flower. How do you tell these apart?

Congratulations Kim. Beautiful blooms.
