Have Lilac Chaste Tree Seeds

for SASBE. If anybody interested. I had a break and went out and gathered the seed off the tree. I got a slew for me and couldn't stand seeing all that seed just hanging there so I gathered oodles extra.

I just googled that. What a beauty! I would love some seeds. I'll dmail you.

It is a beauty, I wonder if it would be hardy here....any idea?

Couldn't hurt to try. Supposed to be hardy to zone 5. The folks in the tree and shrub forum might know a bit better.

I have plenty of seeds . I gathered several thousand seed off the tree. Once I started I couldn't stop. LOL

Ok, just wanted to let ya all know your seeds are going out today. Been waitign for everybody's envelopes to get here so I can make the driv e into town all at once. So hopefully everybody will have them next week.

chaste tree is a Vitex tree

it looks like a lilac(sorta) but it isnt one!

i soak the seeds in warm water till they sprout
you can give em a lil knick before soaking too!

Got the seeds today thank you so much, I have a question do these self sow? Do you find any seedlings around your shrubs, I want to plant these on the line of our property and was just wondering how easy they come up? Do you think I could sow them where I want them to come up?

LeBug. .. Nope they don't just pop up where ya want. Birds and small critters wil eat the seed. Sorry, but you gonan have to sow em and watch em.

I gonna try Dori's method as I haven't done thes e guys by seed either. Since I sent everybody think several hundred, you all shoudl be abe to try diffeerent methods. Maybe somebody wil come up with a really easy way.
