Do daylily seeds actually germinate? I always just cut off those pods!

Yes, it was informative! I didn't realize that they started that easily, do they come true from seed or will it me a mix from the other DLs around the flower bed? Interesting. Bj

Im not to sure.they could cross with other daylilys.I will need to do more reading on the daylily forum.

All the named varieties come from seed. You can check some of the parents on the AHS or Tinkers Data Base if you know the name of the cultivar. The parents of some are not known. The pod parent is shown first then the pollen parent They never come true from seed. Each seed in a pod have differences. The hybridizers spred pollen from the stamen to the pistil to create new cultivars.I have some diploid seeds left. What do you have to trade.

All of the ones I have are from seeds. Keep them in the fridge until you are ready to plant. I just throw mine in a container or ground in the winter and UP comes dl in the spring.
