My little fellow arrived UPS yesterday from a nursery in Spokane in fine shape....would you think it is Amazon Zulu???? Thank you for any help....Deb
Would you help verify identity?
Possibly philodendron ace of spades.
Oh, thank you....I was hoping it was one or the other....what makes the "zulu" different?
I love your lil fella,Depsi. Does this nursery do mail order? How did you find it? I love Philos and am always on the lookout for new ones. :)

We had to be in Spokane for my husband to undergo exploratory surgery at Sacred Heart so the first day after our consultation we took a drive to two different nurseries to see if I could locate some houseplants....I'm always looking for Stapeliads, Rhipsalis, Hoya, Schumbergera but either place didn't have much....my husband was already back in the truck so I was hurrying out & just out of the corner of my eye saw this little forlorn guy sitting completely alone amongst a huge Pothos vines...I ran over & picked him up, immediately was in love but didn't want to argue with DH for the remainder of our trip about buying "ANOTHER" plant when there's not enough room to keep the ones I have..... so left him behind but he stayed on my heart and when I got home I called them and paid for over the phone....I'm so glad I did....He's a darling....the name of the nursery was "Ritters" in Spokane WA but the gentleman who waited on me said they don't get their stock in until April...it will be worth a run up there for the day......and once this little guy gets going I would be more than glad to send a start off to you............Deb
Deb, (((hugs)))
I hope your husband's surgery will help him....You are a such a darling, thinking of your husband like that. It kinda made me chuckle though when I read that you called in your order after you got home.:)))
Thanks for the offer, maybe we can trade in the Spring so that you get something too.

P.S. Is that a trout-leaf begonia in the background there? Love begonias too and have one of those. She's a finicky grower for me, but hoping that will change this year!

Celt330540...I was very glad to get this guy...he just looked like he wanted to go home with me....your's is magnificent....what a diverse group these guys are....I have the common heart shaped guy and now this one + a Monstera that I thought was a Philodendron when I bought acouple days ago at our local Ace Hardware....I probably will stop there since I really want to concentrate on Stapelia, Rhipsalis, Schumbergera & of course, my beloved Hoya's.....and I don't have a greenhouse so must limit my acqusitions......
GH.....I don't know what you call the begonia but it grows like a crazy person!!!!! I prune & prune & prune....I have it in one of those old Rubbermaid selfwatering planters that you can't find anymore & it just must love it...I only have two begonias in the house: the beautiful Angel Wing I absolutely love & this guy....if you ever need starts do not hesitate to let me know.. ...I have never had as good luck with plants as when I had them all in those Rubbermaid guys....why do they do away with something that works? and of course, dummy here, thinking they would always be available gave some of my plants away while still in the planters!!!!!!!!! what I'd give to have them back.....Have a great day tomorrow & thank you for responding...Deb
Deb, what a gorgeous specimen! You have Begonia Medora. Does it bloom for you?
Not yet....but that may be 'cause I prune it back so much...I have just moved it to our guest room where there is enough space for it to spread out....it sat in front of a south facing window in our office just above my husband's exercise equipment so I was constantly pruning it so it wouldn't get in his way. Now the little fella can grow to it's heart content although that room has a north & east facing window....hope the light is bright enough....if not, he's back to the office & hubby will just have to pull it in abit.....Deb
