I have a tropical hibiscus 'Snow Queen' which I have kept in the house all winter. Lately I have noticed that it is turning solid green on the new growth. Do any of you know if this is only cause of the light, and will it turn variegated again when I put it outside in Spring? Here is a picture of it this pasat summer.
Snow Queen turning green
Heres a few possibilities:
If the green growth is on all branches, it is usually from being fertilized recently and should return back to the normal variegated look in a few weeks.
If it is on only one or a few branches, and continues to stay green you will have to prune those branches off to retain the variegated look of the foliage.
I'm not sure but it could also be a response to less light conditions from being inside.
If thats the case, it should return to its "normal" look when you can put it back outside.
Hope this helps,
Dave
thank you!
You're welcome! :~)
