Does anyone have Eryngium Yuccifolium? Yes? What are you looking for in trade? Many thanks

Hi Laurie,

I have some of this. Would prefer a single colored annual in exchange, but I am easy.

Are you two collecting Eryngiums or do you just happen to like/have this one?
I'm seriously thinking of starting a full collection as i allready have a few special ones.

Excellent, Suzy! Thank you.

I can offer you two single colour annuals - Anthirrhinum Black Prince: deep rich claret blossom with dark green brushed purple foliage. Looks wonderful growing in amongst bronze grasses, or with Acaena copper carpet. And I also have Alonsoa Bright Spark - a bushy annual with small fresh green leaves and long stems of small slightly dusty coppery orange blossom. Blossom on both goes until cut down by frost. (Alonsoa is late august blossoming). Both make good additions to cut flowers. I am more than happy to send both. Both of these were grown in isolation.

Mike - I think the Eryngiums are very interesting and worth putting together a collection. In my case, I am thinking of using them in a mixed planting of Patrinia scabaefolia, fronted by Echinacea White Swan. I thought mixing the Eryngium Yuccifolium would be a nice contrast. The area is full sun in the morning until noon, with a dappled shade all afternoon, well drained - so the three should do well there.

I kinda got into them by accident, i don't know the Patrinia, going to go look it up now.

Excellent, Lauri! Send me your address & I'll get them out tomorrow. Take a quick look at my trade list and see if there is anything on there you want. It's under my Journal here on DG. Might as well make the postage worthwhile. I couldn't find anything on your page, but if you have a wishlist, pass it along because I have a lot of things I haven't typed up yet.

Mike, to answer your question, I got these in a swap. I don't like flowers or plants with prickles & spines, or which otherwise look unfriendly, and these are definitely unfriendly looking! I was just getting ready to list them on my tradelist. LOL!

Oh how I love to get someone else interested - I hate to be the only one suffering from seedsearchitis!

I'm sorry I can't help you folks -- sounds like you'd give them a good home. Moondog -- and I really have to say this -- Moondoggie LOL! showing my age for sure! I have not been to White River Gardens in ages. The first 2 times I went there was nothing there but some dead herbs. The third time was the orchid exhibit so not a whole lot going on outiside (January)! Maybe I'll try again this summer, but I guess you could say I was underwhelmed and overcharged!
