I'm going to be moving in the next two weeks. what do you guys recommend I give my hoyas before/after to reduce any trauma from moving to a new place?
water?
fertilize (I have the beer solution and elenor's)
low light?
I'm moving to a place where I'll have better light available, and these lazy plants need to pick up production. the only one I have blooming for me currently is the lacunosa and s/he's only got one formed.
reducing hoya moving shock
If you are going to pack them in a box for a while...even 2 days...get them accustomed to the dimmer light over 2 or 3 days. If they are going to be exposed to cold...don't water and transport just moist. I would not fertilize until they are in their new growing conditions for a few days. Just be sure they are well supported and don't bounce around. Are you moving across the street or across the US?

about an hour in the car
I really wouldn't worry about them then. Just keep the temperature right...

so how would you recommend me jump starting them when they are settled? they are coming out of fairly low light and moving to high, but shaded light. should I gradually increase the light? should I power feed or dilute feed?
I know you are a hoya guru. I come to you to seek wisdom.
you wanna know about horses, feel free to reciprocate the queries
If there is a BIG contrast between where they live now and their new home, I would make an intermediate step up... lasting maybe 4 or 5 days. I know folks who take them out of the box where they have been for 4 days and put them right into bright light and they don't skip a beat. Before I ship, I take the plants out of the GH into the Carport where they go into lower light... I would just keep up the feeding schedule/system you are using now... If you are getting good growth with the plants in bright light now, continue that place in their new environment... Make sure they get good air circulation. I am finding that air circulation is as important as the correct light...and if I have an ailing plant...I put it outdoors in the shade and it usually perks right up!!!
I wish I had horses!!!! I played horsey instead of dolls ... always did. You are so lucky!!!!
