I was thinking about doing some trading this year (I have never really traded before) and I was wondering how the trade list works. Do I list the things that I am going to have to trade on the trade list and then list the ones that I want on the wish list? It can't be that simple can it? Heck I think I might could do that. I did read all about it on the help thing but I think that just got me confused. Getting older really sucks.
Thanks,
Jesse
How does the trade list work?
I believe you are suppose to wait until you actually have what you can trade. For example wait until you harvest seeds, etc. I'm not sure about the wish list.
Plantcrazii: My trade list iswhat I have available for trade and on my wish list is what I am hoping to someday find!
You can set up your own trade list doing the same thing. If you want to view other people's lists, click on their name and it will take you to their page and you can click on and see what they have to trade or are wishing for. My list is very small ... I just joined DG in October, so haven't gotten much on my lists yet. But, I have made about 15 trades since joining! It's so much fun!
I'm sure as soon as the weather warms up in the North, trades are gonna be going like crazy!
I am so glad that Lin and achoogardner could explain better than I can.....I am new to this also.....I had no idea that you had this many african violets!!!!! Maybe I could come up with something else in exchange for a 'Pink Princess' philodendron.....something more valuable .....
I have been looking for a Philo 'Pink Princess' for a long, long, time! Found a nursery on-line awhile back, but the price was way too high for me! I love Philo's as much as I do AV's!
Yes, I also finally found one at Glasshouse Works but they want $35 for it last time I checked. That is just a little too much for me to pay. I have my little tiny one and when it gets bigger I will be glad to share cuttings of it with you all.
Jesse
Gail: Who are you talking about when you said you had no idea they had that many african violets?
Don't you just love this Garden?!!! I've only been a subscriber since October and have made about a dozen or so trades already! Can't wait for the weather to warm up in the North and everyone begins trading again!
I've done lots of trades, trades should be agreeable and more equal.
Not just in amount of cuttings, leaves, plants...what their worth but what shipping and handling cost.
Pink Princess can be bought for a lot less. and rooted for trades !
Jesse did you not get a nice cutting free some other nice plants I saw then beauties when you posted them :))
I know you must have thousands of gogous plants you have GREEn thumbs !
Sure would love to find someone selling Philo 'Pink Princess' for less than $35 ... I think that's the cheapest I saw it a couple of weeks ago when I googled it! And, shipping adds more!
Well I know Jess was given her cutiing !
And I have a trade set up for Spring for one !
There must be kind DG's that have cuttings to trade !
Here they have it for $25.00
http://www.eldonaccess.com/displayProductDocument.hg?productId=83
Which another Dg told me was way to much.. ??
I have seen it less but I'd have to search more its been awhile.
When I get my plant in trade I will root one for you LIn :))
LIn fount it ! Snet you Dmail where you can buy it for $15.00 still a lot as I know there are lots of Dgs who could share a cutting !1
If you dont get one before I will root mine when I get it in trade in Spring !!
I just went to this site, Allison and the alocasia that I am sending you says that it is Alocasia 'Tiffany' instead of elephants ears.....look at it to be sure...but it looks just like ours!!!
Oh they are different names for EE :))
This is the one we both have ! I postted my picture in Plant Files ! You should post your pretty plant in Plant files too !!

I just saw Alocasia loweii 'Tiffany' its different than ours.
Ours is Alocasia amazonica also called African Mask, Amazon Elephant's Ear
Alocasia amazonica
there are many types of EE's and many different Alocisia's !
I just love Elephant ears !
Where did you find the Pink Princess for $15 Allison. I would love to take a look at that. But I think my little one will always be my favorite even if I had another Pink Princess. When you get a little cutting and raise the plant yourself, I think that makes it even more special.
Jesse
OK..I'm dumb...Where do you go to make up your have list and your want list?On your profile page or??
There is a tab located next to the last tab on the right called Trading. Click on that and it will take you to it.
Jesse

violet_grower.....I want the same answer as you just asked....
Well when I added my haves, and then logged out, there was a photo of it already there. That is the only way I knew my picture was there.
Jesse
The new system is connected to the photo's in Plant Files ... I read someplace if the plant you are listing is in the PF system, it will automatically post a photo of it with your entry. At least, I think that's what I read!
Lin
I was excited to find Terra Nova had 72 count plug trays of Pink Princess....until I saw the price per plug....$5.00! That's $360.00 per tray plus shipping!!!
