Neil Sperry garden show coming up

Mansfield, TX(Zone 8a)

I happened across a thread about local garden shows, so checked and the Neil Sperry garden show in Arlington is next weekend - the 23rd through 25th. You can get discount coupons on line. Anybody planning to go?

I will be there volunteering at the Native Plant Society booth on Sunday.

My sister is going to be in town and isn't much on gardening, but hopefully I can drag her over there at least for a while. I'll try to make it Sunday :-)

Thanks!

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

I hope to come in from Austin. I alway hate missing this first show of the season, so I'm itching to be there! Cross my fingers that everything works out and I don't buy TOO many plants...I'll look for ya'll!

Those of you that have been before. How would you rate this show?

Austin, TX(Zone 8b)

Rating the show? Depends on what you want. It's not a home and garden show, just garden related, so that's a thumbs up for me. There's usually some plants, but not tons. It's fun for me, since they are usually the first to get spring plants in, so that's a thumbs up. But we've often discussed...is it enough for me to drive from Austin to Dallas for the show. Probably not...I'm visiting my aunt this time, but really like it when it is on the same weekend as Canton...one day shopping for plants, one day shopping for junque!

I went last year, and I think the plants are not the main thing, mainly the seminars and all the new and imaginative use of garden and landscape products, it is a lot fun to see. Also many different associations are represented there.

Me and my Mom went last year on the last day! We had a great time! The booths that had plants had them marked down considerably since it was the last day. The neil Sperry calendar was available there also at a reduced price(it's a great calender). We found several great deals and the show had many informative booths.Lots of helpful hand outs regarding Texas gardening and events that are going on through out the year. I'll be there Sunday again. It seems that the show falls on my Long week at work which puts me working Saturday night and then leaving work from Dallas picking up my mom in Weatherford and heading to Arlington. A small trip around the world for me, but love the opportunity to spend time with my Mom and other area gardeners! See you there :0)

Well, I did see Darmadoll and her Mom at the Native Plant society booth, they are both lovely ladies, and I was very excited to meet them, I had a great time meeting a lot of people wanting to know about native plants.
