While I was walking this afternoon, great surprise.
Afternoon bonus.
How Cool!!! Congratulations trois!!
Wow! What a lovely surprise for you, Trois!!! Great photography, I might add.
Thanks pelletory and Murmur. Right place and right time. Actually there were several hundred scattered over several trees. They only stayed a few minutes.
right place, right time , Is Right!!! What a Nice Surprise!
IRIS, it was almost a shock.
Wonderful!! I just love waxwings - thanks for sharing them with us. :-)
Usually they are moving so fast, you can't get a good look at them. Nice pics.
trois, I bet!! It's a rarity!!! And you got such a great picture!!
But wait! There is more! Another very large flock was just here, and I was able to get closer. Maybe some good shots. Later.
Oh my gosh! Trois what a wonderful catch..Your first photo is just splendid. Made my eyes pop in suprise. Can't wait to see the next round.
Trois, where are the new photos???!!!
Posted under "Too many Cedar Waxwings." Sorry.
I found 'em, Trois - thanks!
Trois,
Wonderful pics! What a fantastic day you had! Now I'm off to see the "Too many Cedar Waxwings". ;-))
Marilyn
Thanks, Marilyn.
Thank you. Wonderful, love the photos.
Thank you, Mahnot!
You lucky dog! (or is that BOO?)
That's Boo. He is very happy with the cold.
Ahhh, that would be blu BOO, oops wrong thread.
Great pic..I heard there was a large flock seen in Texas recently. We had quite a few here (both Cedar and Bohemian) in December and early January, feeding on our abundant mountain-ash berries. The berries are gone now and so are the waxwings. Oh well, the cedars at least will return in June.
How cute! Glad you can get closer.
I did have trouble taking pictures. The trees were swaying3 to 4 feet.
Thanks.
Really impressive photos - I can't imagine getting such good pics with winds of that speed . . . hope they have died down now before they do any damage!
Dead calm today. About half the pictures I took yesterday were bad, either missed the target completely or too much motion. Trying to time the shots between gusts is difficult. Also I suppose that due to the wind most of the birds had their crests down. They almost looked like different kinds of birds.
