Mystery Bulb

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

I spotted this little plant growing in the shade in my dog run. Can anyone tell me what it is?

They look like Hyacinth flowers, except Hyacinth flowers are more cone-shaped and there are a lot more flowers in each cone. It's probably some type of Hyacinthus orientalis.

It's definitely, absolutely a hyacinth. Probably a very small bulb or possibly a very old one with diminished flowering ability. See what happens next year!.

It is a hyacynth. I think often the ones we grow in our gardens never really look like the ones in the pictures or that are forced for spring buying in the grocery stores etc.

I have a bed on the south of my house that is probably a zone or two higher than my general area and I plant hyacynths there after they have finished flowering in the house. They do come up and flower but not like the pics!
