GH rame of Treated Wood?

Oriental, NC(Zone 8a)

Wooden greenhouse frames are of light construction--2x4 rafters, studs, mullions, etc. If I build a 12x12 greenhouse with an 8 on 12 roof out of treated lumber and use twin/triple-wall polycarbonate glazing, will I have to be concerned about warping of the frame members? Is there any special technique (beyond the standard polycarbonate installation techniques) required to prevent serious leaks from developing if some warping occurs? If anyone has experience building with polycarbonate on treated lumber, I'd REALLY appreciate suggestions from your experience.

Thanks in advance,

Hank I looked at one of these greenhouses today I really liked it. You could build one a lot cheaper that they charge for one.

Here's another thing to think about with using "treated lumber" in your greenhouse, HDC: all the "noxious chemical gasses" that lumber emits. I'm no expert on chemical analysis, but most of what I've been told by the "experts" in this field hasn't proven out in real life. I've used railroad ties to build beds in my gardens for the past 50 years, in all climates from Conn, to Ill, to NC, to Tx, to SC. The experts swore the preservatives used in the treatment would kill all my plants. All did quite well, actually. I've used "treated" lumber to build multiple cold frames in all these climates, and they also worked quite well. But my experience with this medium is that it WILL warp! And that can cause problems later on in the life of the greenhouse, which you really DON'T need. I chose to go with aluminum framing for that reason, and I've never regretted it...

I've often wondered if some form of plastic wood would be good for greenhouse framing. I know that some forms of it are kind of "wimpy", but there are several different products that go under the name of "plastic wood" that are used in construction. Some of them might be suitable for greenhouse framing. However, I don't know of anyone who has used plastic wood for a greenhouse frame. Maybe that should tell me something.
