Ga Mtns

Sautee Nacoochee, GA(Zone 7a)

Hey!,
I have just become a full member here at Dave's, SO I thought I'd drop a note saying "Hi" and intro myself briefly.
I come to you from teh great green lower Appalachians, or Smokies! The friendly old mountains here give us shade, fabulous sunsets, autumn color and unpredictable weather. Clay soil is teh norm .
About me? Im a wife to a patient man (he' s gotta be, he's put up with me for 16 years now) and Mom to teh best lil 10 year old boy Ever! (yes, I understand Im biased.. ;) )We're lucky to be able to do many things together. Our family studies teh Korean martial art called Hapkido, although Mom and son are teh only BlackBelts .We Mtn bike when we can, we hike around our area when we get time. We love to kayak on teh Chattahoochie! I tell teh boy that he has to learn to garden with me or else he'll be eating us out of house an home come teen years! His interest in gardening waxes and wanes.

Im a avid herb and veggie gardener with very little sun to help my passion along. Ok, I may also not have alot of talent to help it along either- I ignore that part hehehehe.
Drop me a line if you care or if you'll be passing thru our wonderful part of teh 'verse.
Oh, and please dont send me your opthomologists bills. I'm dyselxic- I consider that I provide those who read me with "mental stimulation".("What did she say??. lets puzzle that out..") I'm doing you a favor, you just dont know it.;) LOL Really- I'll try to catch things, but mistypings WILL slip by. My apologies in advance!

Thank You so much for being here, and putting up with me ! :D
Ninnian (Nin)

Nin~ A big welcome, hot dog a black belt in Hapkido! That's a very disciplined sport, my boy pumpkin was quite miffed when we moved and could not continue Hapkido as there is not a Master here for classes.... You will have fun here at DG.. learning, sharing and chatting about everything in and out of the garden! ;0)

Garden6,
Thank you very much for the big warm welcome! Small world it seems liek some days when someone on a gardening forum known what Hapkido is! LOL. How old is your son, and what style did he take? Better yet, why didn't you? :D Im shameless in my promotion of such a valuable health and self defense oriented Art. I'll have to ask my Master who might be in that area.
I am looking fwd to learning much, applying almost as much, and not being too obvious in the depth of my ignorance. ;) Im already aswim with ideas that I have NO way to implement. Ah, look to teh future!

::waves toward Kansas::... Have agreat day out there, ya'll!

Nin~ My boy pumpkin , took Hapkido for 4 years since he was 9, first classes were when we lived in Asia and he loved it, so he still practices his moves. In Asia, the classes were more rigorous than I thought was reasonable as it met 3 times a week for an hour and a half. Shamelessly, I'm not that much into exercise except for walking and gardening and I used the 3 girly pumpkins as an excuse, they were toddlers and a preschooler at the time. Sending waves right back at you to GA. ;0)

Garden6,
Wow, were you in S.Korea for duty or work? They take thier martial arts very seriously there as teh animosity betwixt they and N Korea is not forgotten. At 9, 90 hard core minutes IS too long. My son at 10 (it must be a common nick- I call my boy "punkin or 'punkin head !)usually takes 3 times a week, and only one of those days is 90-120 minutes. Im sure its never as hard core as you had it in Asia either! I'll have one of my 2 hour classe sthis AM.
wow! 4 chilluns! yay you!.. I have but the one- I have copnsidered adotpion from Korea or China.

Herbie,
Thank you for wading thru the drifts in the Upstate to welcome me! :D ( I grew upo in Ct and Maine- so I appreciate you!)

yay TY! :D

Nin~ DH's business took us there, it was a great experience, makes you appreciate life and freedoms here in the US even more. There were children who were much younger in his class and very serious about the art of Hapkido! ;0)
