Lets see your snake photos.
LOL! Bsharf: If I saw that in the shruberry they'd have to call the EMT's to resuscitate me!! :)
(I saw the subject line and just had to look. )
Deb
Omg....Id die if I saw that too....but he is beautiful.
Oh, my. Better your house(s) than mine!!! I love my little garter snakes, but that's IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great photos, I must say.
It was a bit exciting at the time.
I'm sure! He's a beauty!! Nice pic!
OMG trois!!! I'm fainting here - are you really serious?? You actually found that snake in your house... in the commode?!! What kind of snake is that? It sure looks poisonous to me (shiver). From now on I'm not venturing into my bathroom without a big stick... or better yet, hubby first. LOL!
"potty snake" that's hysterical. Great pic.
Yes, I am serious. We live in a remote location with a private septic field. The ground had cracked at the time allowing entry for the snake. Neither my wife of myself are afraid of snakes, just careful. She had to hand me my camera as I had no clothes on and was holding the snake in the grabber with one hand. Thank goodness for autofocus. I carried the snake out onto our porch and released it unharmed. Never saw it again. I sent pictures to a herp expert but they were unable to get an ID. The dark bar across it's head ruled out several likely types.
My wife had a severe laughing fit about the entire thing.
LOL - I can only imagine . . . I just know I would adore your wife!!!
Man, that looks so much like a copperhead!
THAT, is exactlly why, no matter how asleep i am, there will be sitting without a looksy. I would have just flat out gone crazy. I thought putting my hand under my pillow after laying down and turing out the lights, and finding a dead squirrel, courtesy of the cat, was bad.
Ewwwwwwwwww, Gardenglory - that would definitely have been bad, too!!!!!!!!!
Well I had to laugh at Trois' potty snake. That snake looks like an Eastern Milk Snake. I have to relate 2 of my snake encounters, from when we were homesteading on a mountaintop in central PA. When we cleared our land for our cabin, we uncovered a black snake hibornatorium, so we knew that they were all over the place. I had a big garden, and one day I was kneeling on the ground picking strawberries. I felt what I thought was a hose under the leaves. It was the biggest black snake that I had ever seen: boy did I jump. I made my DH take the snake over the mountain. Our barn didn't have electricity, so it was always quite dim inside. One evening I was collecting eggs, and stepped on what looked with a piece of hose. It was a black snake eating duck eggs. It was so stuffed with eggs, you could see the lumps inside, that he couldn't retreat. I dealt with him myself, carrying it outside on a manure fork.
