Cambria, CA(Zone 10a)

We have several varieties here but I think this guy that hangs out on the woodpeckers' tree is a red shouldered hawk? Anyone?

I saw the pair mating this morning so we'll probably have another nest full in the spring. Sure wish the gophers were their favored meal instead of the birds. Especially the quail, I hate it when they get the quail. This is from just a while ago too. Wet feathers.

Thanks, I'd love to get shots of her (or him) when I'm outside. These are all taken from inside through the window. Sure love having them around to watch though.

Got a shot of the pair in their tree today. Our backyard has become their favorite hangout since they cut down two old dead pines last week and the week before. Now this is the tallest tree in their 'hood.

Great shots Stella. I'd like to see the gopher though. On the first photo where you said. Get those gophers... I kept looking for the gophers! HAHAHAHA

Cambria, CA(Zone 10a)

OK, here's a gopher that Lionel got. He likes to show off his catches. I don't think the hawk would give me the chance to get this shot.

Better to eat your roses my dear. I actually like this picture of the dead gopher. Prettiest gopher in the world, dead gopher.
