Hoya House

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

My wonderful hubby put up a canopy today to (1) prevent debris from the tree falling into the pond, and (2) a place to house my hoyas during the spring and also while putting up the new greenhouse. With the humidty they will be happy campers!!

Nice, Sistah A!! I love the canopy!! Looks like easier access than your greenhouse.....for all the people wanting to rob - I mean visit - your hoyas!!!! Not me, of course......

Awanda........ What a great idea! put a couple of chairs in there and head out there for your morning cup of coffee. Your pond is just lovely. Send us another photo when you put all the pretty hoyas in there:)

Thanks everyone, I am really happy with it. Now it's difficult to decide if I want to sit in the greenhouse or by the pond. Carol the netting is for all bugs. Sistah K I"ve taught my koi how to attack, so be afraid....be very afraid:-). Bea I've added a couple of chairs, so it's all set for coffee in the am:-).

Karen, if you can do the snatch and run, I'll be the lookout :-)
That is a real nice looking set up you have there, Awanda. Nice place, nice hubby, what more could a gal ask for?!

Oh you lucky girl, it turned out really great :) Hmmmm, seems my path to the GH has been obstructed. O.K. I guess I can hop the fence over at Cheryl and Heidi's, swing from the orange trees, and go the back route. That is really a cool gazebo, where did you get it at again? Attacking Koi fish? LOL, I think your Ninja turtle must have been doing a little night time training..

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Don't try it Ms. K:-). Tami I have re-trained Heidi, she really is a guard dog now plus the oranges trees have been wired. You should know where I got it from ....Biglots of course!! I saw the same one at Home Depot for $300, Biglots had it for $169! Don't you just love that store!!

That looks very relaxing in there. Wish I had more room. I have too many dogs to put up anything like that. They would tear that netting down in no time.
Congrats on the neat set up.

Hey .... I'm going to Big Lots today! Haven't been in awhile ... and I love that store! Wish I had a yard big enough for a Gazebo like that too! I do find some good bargains at Big Lots. Here's a photo of one of my Big Lot Garden "Treasures" .... my Butterfly Girl. I found her at Big Lots a couple of years ago, my sister thinks it's kinda tacky, but I love it! she's a bit dirty right now, I need to get out and clean my deck and patio area, but thought I would share the photo anyway.

Marcy I had my Starbucks coffee sitting inside this morning. I"ve added a couple of nana plants and when it warms up, I'm going to put my plumies inside. I want to make my own little tropical paradise. Hubby is putting a shepherds hook in today, so I'll going to hang 2 of my biggest hoyas on it, which will be obovata and splash!!

Awanda

Awanda: Please post a photo when it's all done .... I know it will be even more beautiful when you get the plants in there!

Oh, can you post a photo of your Hoya 'Spalsh'??? Is that the one with big leaves?

Mesa, AZ(Zone 9a)

Here is the splash, the leaves aren't especially large, but they are larger than my other pubicalxy's.

hello everyone!...your gazebo "hoya" house is awesome...wish i could do something like that too but for one...one of my dogs would have a heyday with the netting...and two...we get horrible wind storms up here and would blow the entire thing away...sigh...and i do so adore sitting outside on a warm sunny morning with my coffee...makes me ready for summer NOW!!...

plantladylin...your butterfly lady is adorable!!!!...i love anything hummingbird, butterfly, ladybug and mushroom...so i like to put plant pokes and such in my pots ...would LOVE to put more out in my yard too but then there is that dog issue..she is such a chewer...lol...well there is always the front yard... :)
