Adora White or pink?

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

I received a Adora cutting from someone a few months back. It did very well and bloomed for me not too long ago, but It's blooms were white with a slight tinge of pink on the edges. ( very slight) I looked in plant files and I cant tell what color is its supposed to be every picture of the plant looks different. Can anyone tell me what color is it supposed to be. Is this a true Adora ??

Remember wintercolours are often more pale then warm weather summercolours.

hmmmmm ... unfortunately it's hard to say if your Adora is the real thing. Around 2001-2002 a brugmansia named Rosa Traum was sold here in the USA for the first time. The original mother plant came from Germany. When pictures of the flowers from this Rosa Traum were posted the plant was id'd as Adora. Some people changed the names of their Rosa Traums to Adora and some didn't. I personally do not know if the true Adora has entered the USA thru other collectors or businesses. Or the true Rosa Traum either.
We do not know what this Rosa Traum/renamed Adora/possibly neither/ brug really is :). It really matters in order to maintain spotless breeding records and accurate history. I surely wouldn't trust Rosa Traum/renamed Adora/possibly neither's history.
About the color of Rosa Traum/renamed Adora/possibly neither lol! ... It is one of those pinks like Rosabelle, Isabella, and so so so many others that changes colors from white to different shades of pink/peach/deep coral depending on temps and humidity.

Guardian Girl,

Vicki (Veech8) is right about the Adora vs. Rosa Traum issue. You received it as Adora, so for now call it Adora, but ask the person who you got it from, who/what was their source. I try to keep notes, sometimes it is all mental, of the source of every one of my brugs. This info can become very important in the future, should a real good cross come up in the future, you would want to confirm parentage.

And, hey V, where you been? So good to see you are still alive and kicking! (((LOL)))

yes, absolutely don't change the name you received it as . As long as everyone including past, present and future hybridizing generations are aware of it's history... well that's all that counts.

David, there's just not enough hours in a day. My life is so full of creating things, and family, and critters, and trying to maintain a home on my own (eek! hee!). I am blessed with peace and happiness. How's that for mushy? :) ... but it's truth.
I hope you are well too.

Could there really be that much color change in winter?
This flower looked white.

Judycooksey had a thread on the different colors on the same plant in different times of the year, different conditions etc. It was really amazing how different one bloom can look.

I see the pink in your pic.. it's just very faint.. I'd venture to say yes.. it could be that drastic of a color change. Especially if it's a first flush..

My Amber Rose almost got dug out and canned cause I was so shocked at the color of her first flush. See below!

This is how she colored up just a couple of months later!

Yes, I would think it is possible for Rosa Traum/Adora to produce solid whites too. Isabella and Frosty Pink have given me both solid white and solid pale pink in the past. Even the beautiful B. Ecuador Pink can produce white flowers from time to time.
