Anyone have photos of birds trapped in your house, garage, etc, that you have "saved". This morning, this Yellow-Rumped Warbler was flapping around my lanai: the door to the outside is kept open so my pets can go out in the backyard. His "mate" was on the lanai roof fussing. This poor guy took one look at me, panicked, and dove into the corner, so I was able to pick him up, and put him outside. Of course I always take photos before I rescue anything.

Good Deed of the Day
Poor lil' thing! Glad you saved it.
I posted pictures several years ago of "Double Rescue" (I think) of a pair of young Rufus Hummers, and "Hawk in the House!" when a Northern Goshawk got into my sunporch.
How did you get a Goshawk off your sunporch? Very carefully!
When I came back in to get the camera, I also grabbed the firegloves, which are very long and thick leather. ;-)

I went back to your archived threads and saw the 2 photos that you were talking about. The hawk doesn't look too happy!
OMG, So Cool!!! Thanks so much for posting this yarapa!!!
oh that is so neat. I get the Carolina Wrens, Cardinals, and hummers in the garage. even had a hooded warbler in there once. I have big windows on 2 sides and they can't figure out how to get out. They head for the windows think that is how to escape
Great pic's! Never had the presence of mind to snap a photo before helping the few out who managed to get in. If there's a next time, I'll definately do so.
Looked up your Owl yarapa, what a great picture!!
Ben ans I think it's a Eastern Screech-Owl, red form.
This little darlin hopped into our garage last summer.. It was nice to see a strong healthy individual, since so many fell out of the tall tree they nested in. Only about 1 of 3 were surviving the long fall. Of course I scooped her up and set her out where her mom could find her. There was a lot of swaking and about a dozen pairs of eyes on me.

Soo Cute!! Love it deb!
Debnes,
Thanks, I wasn't sure what he was for sure. He doesn't appear to have the horns or ears that I thought he was supposed to. On the other hand, he didn't seem too impressed with the way I looked either. Lots of owls around here, woods, hills and bottoms all around, must be like a food court for those guys.
I'd agree with rufous form Eastern Screech Owl, too
