My best suggestion would be to take a few of the worse looking ones to your county extension office guy. I took mine that were looking weird and I got the bad news... cyclamen mites....I have been using Avid and I think I have won the war. I kept a good eye on mine but you cannot see the mites unless you have a 30x or higher magnifier and even then with just a jewelers loupe its really hard to see them.Your pic does look like how some of mine looked, but there are also alot of other reasons, thats why its best to have the extension office guy look at them thru his microscope. I wish you luck and pray you dont have the mites.
My thoughts and prayers are with your hubby for a fast recovery.

I am wondering about the mites, too.... I hope your husband has a quick recovery. : ) Pam

Here's something from the Optimara website:

Crown Deformed (Tight). Leaves in crown are deformed. Crown may appear tight as the younger, smaller leaves curl and grow together.

Possible Causes:

Eunice had for me to make out picture well. Are your plants cold ? Windowsills get ten degrees colder than room. Also during Winter plants need warm/hot water, watering less and food less.
Another thing too much light.
I would take the ones not looking good and remove them away from your other plants Isolate them. Mail a couple off to be checked just in case.
Number one thing for everyone to remeber " Isolate " Does not mater where you buy your plants from, and even worst when your buying them from so many different places :(( Plants coming inside for the cold weather Please Isolate all new leaves and plants "
Lets up know how it works out.
Oh did you take them out of their pots and make sure their roots, soil are not went, damp and cold. They could be heading for root rot if so.

Don't think the worst, yet. Isolating and sending to the county are excellent ideas.

I noticed that the center leaves don't look like they have bug problems. I am wondering how you water the plants. Sometime uneven watering can cause the leaves to shape differently with curves and turns that don't usually happen. (Allowing the soil to become dry and then very wet and then dry again.)

That's the thought that came into my head when I saw your plant. Hope you can solve the problem without loosing your plants.

Starfly: I'm wondering, has it been cold over there in Homossasa where you live? I didn't think y'all had very cold temp's in your area, even though you are the same zone as me, it's usually so much warmer over there because of the Gulf.

I'm wondering if maybe your plants just were wet from watering and then it did get colder than normal, which maybe caused them to suffer. Even a drop in temperature of 10 degrees with damp wet soil can stress out some plants, probably, especially AV's.

Keep us posted and we will be keeping good thoughts for you, your hubby and your AV's!

Will watering from the top and getting the center leaves wet cause them to look that way also?

Doesn't look like my mite problem. Not sure what it is?

I'm glad your DH is home again, and I hope you're both having a restful night.

I think you're right about it being a watering & temperature issue... If you haven't dumped that one yet (and if it's one you really like), I'd suggest removing the outer ring of yellowed leaves, repotting it, and letting it grow back out.

Always praying for you.
