I know nothing about using wireless internet.

I have a new laptop, equipped for wireless internet.

what do I need to do to be able to connect to the internet when I'm on a trip?

I know I have to be able to search for open internet sources. but do I need a internet card or something>?

or does my laptop just have to be set up , simple procedure? or what?
