I wasn't even looking for Eagles today. Driving on the expressway section, of the Glenn Hwy, crossing the Palmer Hay Flats, when I spotted this one in a dead tree, near Rabbit Creek, next to the highway. Apparently, the heave highway traffic distracted him, because I was able to shot 24 shots before it flew. I'll post a few more, of the best shots, as I find the time.
New Bald Eagle pictures
Beautiful pics Gras!!
Great pictures of a regal bird!
Wow, what a gorgeous bird!
Wonderful!
I've noticed they seem to prefer dead trees, or ones that have shed their leaves.
Had one today, just up the highway from here. I'd not have known, but a neighbor stopped by to tell me. Not a good photo op at all, but I was glad to see one so close!
they are so incredible. Perfect pic. My Aunt has them nesting out in the La swamp where her hunting camp is
Gras - fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This afternoon, we when back the location of the road kill, where I photographed the Eagle yesterday. I could see an Eagle, on the same tree as yesterday, almost a mile away. As we approached the remains, quite a few Ravens and Magpies few into the bushes. We waited for quite a while, to see it they would return to scavenging, with us parked so close. But, only two of the Magpies would come down and eat . I took this pic. through the truck windshield. The Eagle is perched on the same limb as it was yesterday. The Magpie is scavenging moose remains. There were five Ravens in one tree, but as soon as I rolled down the side window, they took off. The Eagle must have had enough of me yesterday. As soon as I stepped out of the truck, it flew.
I love the magpies, their so pretty! Nice pic!
Just curious; does your lens fog up with the cold weather.?
Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Gras! They look to be a pretty good size bird besides being very handsome.
