What elegant birds, Trois - I've never seen an Ibis. Great photos.

There are thousands around here. I see large flocks in muddy, standing water, eating crawfish and mostly worms. Notice they are muddy on their front.

Great pics Trois. The first pic looks like it was playing peek a boo with you

He was. Thanks.

Trois: they do like to "flock together". Here's a group I came across a few months ago...

Trois; Cool! I've never seen ibis except in the marsh. Where in TX is Santa Fe?

Just a baby. This Juvenal White Ibis at first trotted toward me, asking for food. He then noticed I didn't look quite right and retreated a few steps, then hiding behind this weed, and of course, I can no longer see him.

South-east Texas, In the marsh. The baby above hatched out about a quarter mile from my house. I would see it every morning on my walk, until it could fly.

Trois, what a charming story of the baby ibis hiding!

Really super pictures - beautiful, interesting birds.

Thank you Murmur. They always fly as if they are very excited, fast and erratic.
