View from my window today

I am so thrilled with my new camera. I didn't think the pics would come out with the flash. This is the view from my diningroom where I have my puter desk

Hermit Thrush I think in my feeder. I thought they were bug eaters but have been seeing it on the ground below the feeders but assumed it was digging for bugs. It was eating peanuts and sunflower seed

What nice pictures Donna! What kind of camera did you get? You get an amazing number of different birds in your yard! I am so hppy to see your hermit thrush. When this forum started I posted a "what is it" post of a stunned bird that I thought might be a hermit thrush. I think it looks just like yours. I don't think you see these very often. Do they hang out more in wooded areas?

I also forgot to say before I sent the previvoous message, you have some really nice feeders. And your goldfinches are a lot further along yellow wise than mine are! Great pics!

Wood Thrush has the more reddish head and Hermit Thrush is more reddish on the tail so I have changed my mind back to this is a Hermit Thrush lol since it does have a very reddish tail

Donna, You have a great view out your window! Very nice selection of birds!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

don't have all the really nice birds I had at my old home right on the coast. I got all the migrants right off the Gulf with hungry bellies. I had over 90 species of birds come through my yard every year

I'm drooling just thinking about it! How exciting that must be. You still get an enviable variety of birds. I just eat up all the painted bunting pictures you post.

didn't see any in spring or fall but it was only my first spring/fall in the new home here in the country

Donna, what a lovely place you can sit and look out - just lovely!!!!

Lily I got a Panasonic DMC FZ50 for Christmas. It is really working out nice. Still playing with it and learning how to use it. So far my only complaint is sometimes it focuses on things behind the subject of the pic on auto. You can over come that if you can get it to focus on a nearby object bigger than your subject then move back to your subject while still holding the focus

Donna, I'm still working on the feature of my Sony as well. Every time I think I have it down, I goof up!

I have the hardest time with hummingbirds because they are often too small for my camera to focus on. I can tell you are really enjoying your new camera Donna. Great job. I got my first digital 2 years ago and my life hasn't been the same since lol. My son refers to it as his "baby brother" because I'm so overprotective of that too ha ha.

LOL, LIly!! I'm sure my DH wonders if I will ever surface again since I got my new camera . . . I'm either out taking photos, or I'm at the computer playing with them!

Donna: I love the pic with all the chipping sparrows and the one little goldfinch. He must've been wondering if he was in the right place! :)

We have piles of chipping sparrows this winter, too, but way fewer goldfinches than normal for some reason.
